Aurora Energy has delivered its third consecutive year of strong operational and financial performance despite ongoing market volatility and continued cost-of-living pressures.

With the release of Aurora Energy’s 2025-26 Annual Report today, CEO, Nigel Clark said he was incredibly proud of the progress that the company has made in making energy easy for Tasmanians.

“Our Annual Report reflects the dedication of our people who continue to deliver positive results for our customers, community, and shareholders,” he said.

“This year we achieved strong financial returns, maintained our high levels of customer service metrics, further increased our support for the community, and continued to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect across our customer interactions.”

Aurora Energy improved its financial performance for another year and is set to return $9.1M to the Tasmanian Government, $3M ahead of target.

“These strong returns have been driven by greater operational efficiencies, favourable wholesale earnings, reduced revenue leakage, and lower operating costs,” Mr Clark said.

Aurora Energy’s regulated electricity prices remain amongst the lowest in the country and despite the conclusion of federal and state energy rebates, the company continued to support its customers experiencing financial hardship.

During the year, Aurora Energy waived $355,000 in outstanding customer debt for eligible Your Energy Support (YES) customers and, in partnership with the Tasmanian Government, doubled funding for the Energy Hardship Fund to $700,000.

The company's Credit team was nationally recognised for its work reducing occupier and bad debt and clearing legacy COVID-era debt, winning the Australian Institute of Credit Management's 2025 National Credit Team of the Year Award.

Digital innovation remained a key priority, with over 95 per cent of Aurora Energy’s residential and small business customers now connected to an advanced meter. This has enabled more than 130,000 customers to gain greater control and visibility of their energy use through the aurora+ app and access benefits such as free Power Hours.

aurora+ customers benefitted from 2.87M hours of free electricity with Power Hours, equivalent to $943,000 in savings. Aurora Energy’s Power Hours offering has saved customers over $2.3M since the program launched in January 2024.

Aurora Energy also expanded its energy literacy programs with the launch of Generation You, a free online information hub designed to help Tasmanians better understand emerging energy technologies and products, including solar, batteries and induction cooktops.

Adding further support for customers with household electrification, Aurora Energy also launched its new Home Electrification Tool on its website offering free, tailored advice to all Tasmanians seeking information on the costs of upgrading or installing energy-efficient appliances and the potential savings these investments can deliver.

Supporting Tasmanian communities remained a focus, with Aurora Energy investing over $580,000 in community partnerships, including support for Variety Tasmania’s School Breakfast Club, No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS), and grassroots sporting programs.

Employee engagement increased for a second consecutive year, rising from 73 per cent to 77 per cent. Aurora Energy was also the only Tasmanian organisation named as a finalist in the 2025 Australian HR Institute’s Awards for Best Employee Experience.

Aurora Energy CEO, Nigel Clark, said the company’s commitment to affordability, innovation and community support remains stronger than ever.
