The last few years has seen many companies experience significant data breaches and millions of Australians have had their personal details compromised.

At Aurora Energy, we’re determined to keep your information secure, which is why we’ve introduced session timeouts and multi factor authentication to help keep your information safe.

Session timeouts and Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)

Session timeouts help to keep your personal data secure. Every now and then you'll be prompted to re-enter your log-in details.

MFA adds an extra layer of security to your aurora+ account and requires two or more verification factors to gain access the app. For aurora+, this means we’ll send you a verification code to your mobile, email or authenticator app.

How it works

Every 30 days or so, when you log-in to aurora+, we’ll prompt you to enter a verification code which is sent to you via SMS, email, or authenticator app.

When you get the first prompt to enter a verification code, you’ll be asked to nominate a preferred mobile number, email or authenticator app, you’ll only be asked to do this once per device.

If you wish to change the way in which you receive the code (via sms, email, authenticator app) you'll need to contact us so that we can reset your preference.
