Home Electrification Tool Competition

1. Competition

1.1 Competition

These terms and conditions contain information about eligibility and the prize for Aurora Energy's Home Electrification Tool Competition (Competition).

1.2 Promoter

The promoter of the Competition is Aurora Energy Pty Limited (ABN 85 082 464 622) of GPO Box 191, Hobart, Tasmania 7001 (Promoter).

1.3 Promotion Period

The Competition will commence on 1 August 2026 at 12.00 a.m. and conclude on 30 November 2026 at 11.59 p.m. (Promotion Period).


2. Eligibility

2.1 Eligibility requirements

Subject to clause 2.2, entrants are only eligible to enter the Competition once, with entry to the Competition being open to all individuals who (during the Promotion Period):

  • are an active residential customer of the Promoter and listed as the account holder for that residential premises; and
  • have purchased a product using the Promoter's Home Electrification Tool via the link provided here (Eligible Product), along with the purchase of the Eligible Product being finalised and verified through either a full receipt of payment or evidence of approved finance.

2.2 Ineligible entrants

Entrants who fulfil any of the following criteria are ineligible to enter or win the Competition:

  • reside outside of Tasmania;
  • the employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and Boompower Pty Ltd;
  • contractors of the Promoter and their immediate families;
  • agents of the Promoter (including agencies associated with the Competition) and their immediate families;
  • people under 18 years of age; and
  • an entrant who has already won a Prize.

2.3 Automatic Entry

An individual who satisfies the eligibility requirements in clause 2.1 during the Promotion Period, and is not an ineligible entrant under clause 2.2, will be automatically entered into the Competition once the Promoter is reasonably satisfied that the purchase of the Eligible Product has been completed in accordance with clause 2.1(b). No separate entry form or other action is required.

2.4 Warranty

By entering the Competition, the entrant warrants to the Promoter that they satisfy the eligibility criteria and accept these terms and conditions.


3. Prize

There is one cash payment prize equal to the total purchase price paid by the winner for an Eligible Product purchased in accordance with clause 2.1(b) up to a maximum value of AUD $5,000 (including GST if applicable) to be drawn for the Competition (Competition Prize).

For the avoidance of doubt:

  • If the total purchase price of the eligible product is less than $5,000, the prize value will be equal to that purchase price.
  • If the total purchase price of the eligible product exceeds $5,000, the prize value will be capped at $5,000.

4. Winning

4.1

The Promoter will randomly draw one winner of the Competition from the pool of eligible entrants automatically entered into the Competition in accordance with clause 2.3.


5. Winners

5.1 Notification

The Promoter will notify the winner(s) as soon as reasonably practicable, but not more than fourteen (14) days after the Promotion Period.

5.2 Payment Conditions

The Winner's entitlement to receiving the Prize is conditional upon the Winner satisfying each of the following requirements by no later than fourteen (14) days from receiving notice from the Promoter under clause 5.1 (Notification):

  • The winner having provided (via email or another form of written communication):
    • their acceptance of the Competition Prize;
    • sufficient details to allow the Promoter to make payment of the Prize via electronic funds transfer; and
    • their consent to being photographed, providing a short testimonial of the Promoter's Home Electrification Tool (if requested), having their name and photograph published on the Promoter's social media channels for the purpose of announcing the winner of the Competition; and
  • Installation of the Eligible Product must be completed.

5.3 Redraw

If a winner is unable to meet any of the payment conditions in accordance with clause 5.2 (Payment Conditions) of these terms and conditions, then that winner will have no further right to claim their Competition Prize. The Promoter may then, in their absolute and sole discretion, decide to randomly draw another winner to receive the unaccepted prize from the remaining pool of entrants of the Competition (and so on, until a winner confirms acceptance of the Competition Prize in accordance with clause 5.2 of these terms and conditions).

5.4 Prize delivery

Once a winner has confirmed their acceptance of the Competition Prize in accordance with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will facilitate delivery of their Competition Prize to the winner nominated bank account via electronic funds transfer as soon as reasonably practicable.

5.5 Repayment of Prize (if applicable)

(a) If, within twelve (12) months after the Prize has been awarded or paid, the Winner:

  • returns the Eligible Product;
  • receives a full or partial refund, rebate, credit, chargeback or other reimbursement in respect of the Eligible Product; or
  • does any act or omission that results in the purchase of the Eligible Product being cancelled, rescinded or reversed,

the Promoter may require the Winner to repay all or a proportionate amount of the Prize determined by the Promoter acting reasonably.

(b) The Winner must repay the relevant amount to the Promoter within fourteen (14) days of receiving a written request from the Promoter.

5.6 Verification

  • (a) The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process or submitting an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  • (b) The Promoter reserves the right to request a winner to provide proof of identity and residency at the nominated delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter.

6. Competition unable to go ahead

If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned (including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition), the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.


7. Promoter's liability

7.1 System issues

The Promoter is not responsible for any problem with, or technical malfunction of, any computer online systems, servers, relevant service provider(s), computer equipment, software, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrants resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in the Competition.

7.2 Limitation

Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of:

  • any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control);
  • any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
  • any claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
  • any variation in reward value to that stated in these terms and conditions;
  • any tax liability incurred by a claimant; or
  • use of a gift.

8. Promoter's discretion

8.1 Decisions final

The Promoter's decision in relation to any aspects of the Competition are final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

8.2 Disqualification

The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Competition. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.


9. Privacy

The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with the Competition is governed by the Promoter's privacy policy and applicable privacy law. A copy of the Promoter's privacy policy may be found at www.auroraenergy.com.au.


10. Acts of God

In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it in its sole discretion from the start on the same conditions subject to applicable State regulations.


11. Existing agreements

Nothing in these terms and conditions or the awarding of a Competition Prize by the Promoter is 
intended to amend or vary the terms of any standard electricity retail contract between the 
Promoter and the relevant entrant
