Why direct debit?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to forget your bills ever existed?
It’s a nice thought – and one we’ve all had from time to time. At Aurora Energy we understand how hard it can be to juggle different payments with different due dates, which always seem to come and go. So we’ve come up with a way to make your electricity bills disappear. (Sort of.) It’s direct debit, and it means that you don’t need to worry about due dates or electricity bill payments.
There are two ways you can direct debit with Aurora: on the due date or with periodical payments. (You can also choose both, but we’ll get to that.)
So let’s talk about paying on the due date. It’s so easy that there’s not a lot to say. You sign up for direct debit payments to come out on the day your power bill is due and we’ll automatically deduct the amount from your account. You can have it come from a credit card or a debit account (which could get you a discount!).
Periodical payments are sometimes referred to as bill smoothing. No, this is not a hair product, it just means that you can choose to have a set amount deducted from your account on a regular basis. So every week, fortnight or month, we take out a little and when your account is due it might be in credit, or you may owe a little. Whatever the case – goodbye to the big electricity bill! And we don’t need to tell you that paying a regular amount can make your budgeting a whole lot easier.
And if you really don’t want to think about it at all, you can jump on the benefits of both types of direct debit: paying a regular amount and then having any additional costs taken out on the due date. Too easy!
